First up - lots of white paint....unless its already white, and just black from vented PCV gas.....

If that were the case, I still have a few fenders and hoods in storage in white.
I'm fairly sure I will just be hunting some black fenders and a hood.
There will also be many other items to bring it back to the stage I would like it.

I don't think any of the turbo 850's in the US were manual.

Wait until he's done with this black project. it will be smooth like a NY limo. I do agree with you and Robert that it's easy to invest $1800-$2000+ in parts for one of these suffering from neglected maintenance. But $2500+ is about the price of a pristine low mileage model.
The end product in the former case is that you now own a car that is at a known quantity Stage-0 which you know was worked on right, like Ben's or Robert's. And as far as reliability, 200k is little different than 100k when these car's are fully rehabbed.
Let's face it, Stage-0 is our happy spot
