95 850 steering boot is too big

my 850 had inner tie rod replaced at dealer and there was some problem with the boot at the time, Dec. 13. anyway, the L boot look too big and a zip tie would not connect it to my new, as of 2009, rack. so I guess the dealer thought I still had orig. rack, and put on a boot (with a nipple on it to connect to a connecting pipe from one side to the other to let air pressure equalize when turning). so is the rack missing a plastic cap that would make the end bigger, or is the rebuilt rack in need of smaller boot?

googling the problem brought out that a TRW boot will not fix on a Simi rack.....

Paul..I seem to recall someone had found an Audi boot that did fit this rack. I'll try searching to find link
