Help, Advice and DIY Tutorials on Volvo's P80 platform cars -- Volvo's 1990s "bread and butter" cars -- powered by the ubiquitous and durable Volvo inline 5-cylinder engine.
Me again. This board seems too good to be true. I have an issue that I strongly suspect is a failed interior climate sensor. I have no heat on the driver side, but it appears the dampers are working properly. I would like to test a replacement cabin sensor, but do not wish to pay $100+ for the part unless I know for sure that is the problem. The little fan inside my sensor never seems to turn on anymore. I have sprayed it with sensor cleaner and blown it out with compressed air. Does anyone have a working one of these that I can buy or rent for testing purposes?
The sensor should be behind a little grille to the left of the ECC unit. To access you need to pull the radio and the ECC unit (radio by popping out the 2 tabs by pushing in to release and then pull it out using the 2 tabs). ECC is easy to remove also, tip it up slightly from underneath and give it a good push forward out of the dash.
Feel behind the dash and pop the switch out to the left of the little grille.
To remove the sensor is a little (make that a lot) difficult. There are 2 tabs just off the 12 and 6 o'clock (clockwise looking at the front) that need to be depressed to remove. It is easiest to do after removing the connector first.
Neil.
