Hi, I think I really screwed the pooch. I was troubleshooting an inop D/S cornor light. I cleaned the ground by the strut tower, got into the car and turned the key to on and had headlights go out, taillight lights go out. the high bean flash operates when I pull back the turn signal stalk, flashers work, brake lights work. I am thinking the headlight switch failed??? Any thoughts? All fuses are good.
now something more wonderful is going wrong. I went out to start car and it started for a moment then died. will not start just cranks. also noticed the HVAC does not operate when key is in position 2. could I have damaged the ignition switch from the lighting problem?
it was a really good day of V70 maintenance. fuel filter, new rear bumper brackets, new headlight lens, oil and filter change, wash, clay bar and wax. then feeling like I could fix the cornor light just stepped into a pile of dog shit.

The ignition switch might be the problem. It takes ten minutes to pull the electrical part. Eshowell has pointed out that you might be able to restore function by cleaning the contacts
