02 V70XC Cruise Control Problem??

My XC has 84k on it and just today all of a sudden the cruise control would not work. The the light that says cruise comes on and stays lit when I press it, but upon trying to hit the "+" button to set it, it wont set? I'm doubtful its a fuse as the light is coming on? Could this be in the switch/button? This happen to anyone else? Just trying to get an idea on the cost to fix or if its worth it? Thanks!

Aww gee. On an earlier model I could have told you but with your model everything seems to be electronic and tied into the electronic throttle module. On an earlier model I would have told you to check a bad vacuum hose under the battery tray. Let me do some checking and see if I can post back with some info for you.

Thanks so much MIJ... I would appreciate it so much. I've been doing some reading about the ETM and seems as if these models were bad to have problems with it.... I'm discouraged

Is your ABS light on, or did it come on sometime recently? While it's on your cruise won't work....or if there's stored code for it your cruise won't work. You might try disconnecting your battery or go to an AutoZone or other auto parts store to see if they'll read and reset your trouble codes. This in itself could make things functional again.
