1985 244GL Changing brushes?

Post by 1choice »

I posted this on another site but didn't get any action, hoping you guys might share how to do this as all I can find so far is passing remarks about doing it.

Previously when I needed to do this I'd just hit the JY and buy the entire thing, but now that I have several I want to do them myself.

so I watched this video

on changing these bosch brushes

but it won't come off no matter how long I leave my soldering iron on it.

Seems that ring is holding it but I don't know what that is, though it's possible my low end weller soldering iron isn't getting hot enough to melt it. I left it on for about a half hour the 2nd time I tried to do this.

should I just figure out how to grind them both down and drill them?

Alright never mind, it was much easier than I thought.

Took only 5 minutes with a dremel for both of the brushes to launch. XD
