2002 s60 2.4t no oil pressure warning

After you run the car, and come to a stop or low idle and the no oil pressure warning light and warning message come on.....if you give it even a tad of gas message goes away???

My 1999 owner manual says it is ok if the light comes on after hard driving, as long as it goes out when revved. Check your manual for the same language.

At idle, the load on the bearings is very low, and as long as some oil is reaching the bearings,you will be fine. If you know you have kept the oil level up and made regular changes, stop worrying about it.

Are you running synthetic oil...type and weight??

Sounds like oil pressure could be better on that car if you're just driving normally.

Typical culprits are the sump o ring seals which can crack an cause a loss of oil pressure. Post 1999 cars have solid lifters so you won't hear any tapping noises when the o rings are in need of replacement.

Is last known replacement of these seals or service history available for your car?

After hard driving, the light may come on occasionally when the engine is idling. This is normal, provided it goes off when the engine speed is increased.

Sure however OP is not driving hard. Normal driving shouldn't create this condition. Check oil pressure with a guage. The only situation when this is normal is if idle speed is too low.
