2005 V50 Fuse F35 blowing. Where is the "PTC oil trap"?

Post by ElGuapo »

Hi everybody,

I am having a problem with Fuse 35 blowing constantly on my V50 2.5 model year 2005. When I measure from the fuse terminal to ground, I get 0.3Ohms.
According to the circuit diagram, the Fuse 35 feeds:
- Air Mass sensors
- EVAP valve
- intake camshaft solenoid
- PTC element, oil trap

I've disconnected all but the latter, and still short circuit.
Now, of course i want to disconnect the "PTC element" as well, but I can't find it for the life of me.

It is the part labelled 39 in the image here:

I've disassembled the center console to the point where I am looking at the evaporator, but no "PTC element" can be seen. Does anyone have an idea where the part is located exactly?
Many thanks!

Never mind, apparently PTC is an Diesel only option. This probably means that the short circuit is somewhere in the engine cable harness, which I will be checking next.
