Use of non OEM O2 sensors in 2000, 2.4l, S80.

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

I need to replace the front O2 sensor on my Volvo S80, 2.4, non turbo. The direct replacement can only be sourced from Volvo who quote

Eric,
Don't know about the S80 but on V70's you get what you pay for. Many who buy the cheaper alternative are very happy innitially but then find that the 02 sensor doesn't work properly and end us having the buy the OEM sensor anyway. You might try some discount OEM resellers. I know you're in the UK and not sure what's available there. Here in the states, the cheapest place I've found for the sensor is http://www.autohausaz.com/

Thanks for the info, I'll try the re-seller route initially. Seems ridiculous that the price difference is so great. As you say, you probably get what you pay for, unless you buy from main dealer, then you just get ripped off!
