1995 Volvo 850 Glove Box

Car was backed into another hard enough to break the tail light assembly. Don't think related, but immediately after, could not get into the glove box. Ignition key turns freely in the glove box lock and the latch mechanism feels like it's functional, but no joy getting the door open. Any ideas?

This is a somewhat common problem on your car. You're going to have to pry the door open, tape up the sides of it with duct tape to keep from scuffing it up and then use a hack saw blade to cut the metal bracket in order to get your door open so you can replace/repair the offending part.
