From 1996 and forward, codes were read via OBD II socket. Before 1996, users could access codes.RCR wrote:find a scanner some where with the right 1997-1999 Volvo software installed to read these codes.
All cars built since January 1, 1996 have OBD-II systems....Scanners vary widely in the number of these signals that they can read. Some show just the basic OBD or OBD II signals, others show the full range of service codes.
That said, myself without a code reader
1. PNP Switch
2. Pull all connectors, inspect, clean, and re-plug in
3. Test temp sensor
