2007 S40 2.4i non turbo engine replacement
I bought a 2007 S40 with a spun bearing. I STOLE it for $850 It's a 2.4 automatic. What is the difference between the engine in the automatic and the manual? Can I put the engine from a manual 5speed transaxle in my automatic car? Granted there would be parts to exchange, but will it work? Will the ECM have a problem with it? Used motors from manual vehicles are substantially cheaper

I think it's too much hassle to convert it to manual, from what I've heard.

I wasn't trying to convert it. I wondered if you can use a motor from a manual car in an automatic transaxle. I found a matching engine
