I'm stilling trying to figure out what's wrong with the left front corner light. i have the right bulb: 1157A. I've put two new ones in there. I've replaced the hazard switch with another one (used), so unless both are bad, that's not it. Here's what works and doesn't:
1. the bulb works for the flashers. the bulb works for the turn signal
2. the corner light does NOT come on for the headlights, nor for the parking light position.
is it my headlight switch? (in a previous post this was suggested) Anything else might cause this? The wires look good. thanks. Rick

It could be the socket. I would take a volt meter and start at the light socket and work my way back. If the switch was bad neither of the corner lights would work.

it's not the socket. i disconnected the socket and plugged my 12volt tester into the wire plug that attaches to the socket. i am not getting voltage up the wire.

That is a great picture of a common problem. It comes from slamming the trunk on a hard object that is under the hinge and it is often hidden inside of the mesh wire loom where it isn't obvious.

I took off the plastic protector and a small section of the wrap. the wires look perfect. is there a way to unwrap the whole thing, or look more closely? Or find the wire that is the culprit? At first look the wires don't appear to be the problem, but it seems like it might be. I'll search the site. thank you.

You have to cut the snake skin a bit at a time and probably remove the rear trim pieces (easy) to find the break. Mine broke where the cable was zip tied to the frame as that point became the flex point. Bad design.

It might be solved; we'll see. MANY thanks for all of the help. I searched the wires in the tailgate harness over and over; they look great. Then I realized I put a couple of screws in the tailgate to cut down the rattles ... maybe I hit something. I checked those and didn't find anything. Finally in frustration, I went back to where I started: the fuse box. The fuse was blown. So either I missed it when I checked at the beginning, or somehow blew it while playing with all of the wires. I replaced it and will cautiously watch what happens. It all works for the moment.
