2005 XC90 Replaced FPS car sputters but wont start
My xc90 sputtered and died while in traffic. I could restart it onlly to sputter over to a parking lot and have it die and not restart. It threw the Fuel Pressure Sensor CEL so I went ahead and replaced that. Now at this point I can get the car to turn over, I can hear it wanting to catch and in fact it even catches for a few seconds but it refuses to fully start. Any ideas? Thanks guys
I can hear the pump running but getting almost no pressure readings from either test point(near the filter or on the rail). If I disconnect the line near the filter and turn the key to the on position I get a steady stream, not sure how hard it should be spraying out.
Here's an update:
Saturday my XC died in town. Was able to restart and stutter if off to the side of the road. It never restarted. Since then
Car would turn over but and sputter a little but never "catch"
No pressure at the rail or at the fuel filter.
When the fuel line is disconnected and the the pump is "jumped" no fuel comes out. Although I can hear the pump running.
No voltage at under hood fuse #9 for the fuel pump when the key is switched to own(not sure if there should be but just checking everything).
Can only jump the pump from the the pump itself. If I try to jump the pump from the White and white/black wires on the PEM connector I get nothing. Even though I used a multimeter to determine both wires are good.
Brand new Fuel Pressure Sensor.
Anyone have any ideas?

Yes, the Fuel Sytem Supply Fuse # 9 (11B-9) should be hot-powered. Are you using the same schematics that I am looking at:

If you your FP runs and delivers but you still have no pressure past the filter or at the rail, you want to check the integrity of the fuel lines and your filter (it is most likely plugged up, like it was suggested earlier)

Example of Precision: Measure with a Micrometer, mark it with Chalk, and then cut it with an Axe.

There two pumps and you likely are only hearing the transfer pump that runs to pump fuel over to the left side to go through the ejector pump to deliver left side fuel back to right side.
The transfer pump is not controlled by PEM.
