2005 v50 8900 miles is this a good buy?

Post by Brazuca_ny »

Hello Community.

I am looking at a 2005 V50 FWD with super low miles, 8900, thats right 8900.

I have one concern.

Being that this vehicle is a 9 year old car with such low miles, could this actually be a bad thing?

the car fax shows some servicing, and the miles stated on the odometer do match the car fax.

All I am worried about is possible damage from non operation and build up of moisture in the engine, is this a valid concern?

they are asking 15000.

thanks in advance

Some service repkacement intervals are TIME dependent, not mileage, e.g. timing belt @ 7 years. If wear on the car & lack of corrosion matches mileage, may be legit. You can check MyCarFax for free...

I understand the time sensitive services, and it will be one of my arguments to bring down the price.

So my concern about a vehicle not being driven is not valid?

I'm going to take a look at it today, pictures are supper clean.

Thanks again

WOW I'm in love lol
Took a look and test drove it
Car is practically brand new
Clean in and out

How critical is the timing belt ?
I understand it's a time interval.

Please share ur opinions

Thanks

If the vehicle were kept at a constant temperature controlled room of say 60 degrees F you could probably not have to worry about that timing belt.

Agree about the belt, I'd be good to check it say every two years for cracks, the belt gets stiffer as it gets old, but since the miles are very low there is no wear on it as yet.

The only issue might happen is if the engine didn't run clean and gum builds up in the piston ring groove. Given the very small miles, I won't worry about it. It's practically a brand new car.

I don't think the belt would need to be changed soon, indeed it's 10 years old but has no miles on it, like it was stored.

I would check if the engine has good power and gas mileage. If the car was rarely driven, the injectors can get clogged by old fuel.
