Wondering if there are any significant improvements in the 2002 over the 2000 V70 XC and if so, what they are. Thanks.

Totally different chassis but different, not so much.
Not until the 2003s is there a significant difference (Haldex)

Mechanically the 5 speed auto is the most notable difference. The 2002 MY still had bugs in the 5 speed to iron out.
