Volvo 850 Wheel Well Liners

Wheel well liners, inner fender liners, wheel arch liners call them what you like.

Did these change over the years or perhaps trim level to trim level?

I ask because I would like to replace the liners for the front wheels on my '95 T-5R. I recently bought 1 for the driver's side wheel that came off of a '95 GLT and it did not fit. Do I need to get a set off of another T-5R?

Sorry, but can't answer for an 850, but I thought all 850's and P80's might be the same. I am just about to replace the LH front one on my 2000 V70R with one from a 1999 V70 and they look the same. I will find out tomorrow if my assumption is correct!

What do you see that is different between the 2 you have?

PN 9152683, 9152684 fit 1997 and 2000 model years only.

The differences aren't readily noticeable but when I tried to install the "new" one I simply could not make it fit. Comparing the two side by side I noticed a few things, bolt holes in differing locations, certain portions being shaped differently, etc.

You could just phone a dealer, give them the part number, and the should be able to tell you what other vehicles are fitted with the same part. They have a reverse part number look-up facility.

9152683 (LH) that I picked up from a 99 XC fitted my 2000 V70R.

The R front bumper drops down lower than a regular bumper, that must be why the liners are different. Where the liner connects at the back, to the rocker panels, those are the same on a standard 95 or an T5-R 95. Does that make sense with the way the standard liners didn't fit your car, were they fine at the back but didn't match up at the front?

I know the R bumpers are all the same across all of the 850s (95-97), people swap them around all the time. So you will probably need a liner from any R for a perfect fit, that may be hard to find. I have no clue if the 98-00 R liners will fit or not.

Gotcha.

I could never get both the front and back of the liner in which would be explained if the front drops down further. This may very well be the reason.
