I was doing a tuneup on my Volvo and noticed this metal hose that runs from the exhaust header around and to in front of the radiator. What does this do? How important is it that I replace/repair the tear? Thanks in advance.

Thanks! What I don't get is it goes straight to the radiator, not the air intake. Could this be used to help get the radiator up to temp?

This diagram is not for your vehicle, but that hose plugs into this box shown there.greekbuckeye wrote:What I don't get
Also, the thermostat in that box will have to be fixed before that hose can be hooked to that air box.
