I have a 2000 S70 automatic with 180K....was driven daily until parked about 7 months ago...Really want to get it going as my crew cab 6L is getting me a whopping 10MPG and it really dents the wallet lol. (But i need it for work)....
Ill try and break down everything i know about the situation and look forward to any pointers...
Battery shows me 12.5v
Dash lights up lights are strong etc...
Turn key to start get nothing...
Replaced starter with a bench tested good one i picked up from TOMS....
Had someone turn key to start while i put multi meter on green solenoid wire (getting 12v there)
Tried bypassing the PNP switch ...nothing...
Would the key ring antenna allow voltage to the solenoid wire and still not allow starter to crank if that were the culprit?
Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated....Thanks for looking....TUNA

That's one that you can eliminate...the starter will crank, the car will fire, and then shut itself off if that was an issue.Would the key ring antenna allow voltage to the solenoid wire and still not allow starter to crank if that were the culprit?
Have you checked cable grounding & connections to/from the starter?
Have you tried jumping the starter service connector near the shock tower in the engine bay?
^It's the black/green plug sticking out of the wire loom there.

Going to chase grounding and connections from starter....I definitely didnt jump the service connector by the shock tower because i didnt know it existed lol....Thanks for pointing that out jblackburn....It rained on my parade today so i wasnt able to check those items this evening.....will be on it tomorrow as i have the day off....Thanks again the input is appreciated...hopefully we can get to the bottom of this.......Tuna

To check the starter in the most direct way possible,
unplug the solenoid connection on the starter and jump
that 12 volts from the big stud to the little connection
on the starter.

Just curious, are you bring power to terminal 50 (see attached Photo) with the key in the on position? Want to know if this is the correct way to operate the starter to turn over the engine when I do not have a helper to turn the key.
