Thanks for the reply, and links. Interesting reading, had a 4.7 dodge that went that bad. Keep the subject up top so everyone can see it. The second encounter was within 1000km of the first, and while a little unnerving not a big shock as I was wringing it out and generally pushing all systems way past where the wife ever would. Figure if it can handle a day of me driving like I did 20 years ago all would be good. It's had two flush / changes in the last 3000 so hopefully I'm ahead of it. Will take your advice and keep the intervals short for the next 6 months.
On a side note. I love the car, absolute bullet on the hwy. Handles and drives like something weighing much less. Can't wait to see how it deals with the snow etc. Very happy to be part of the Volvo family and know my family is safe when they're out and about. Cheers!
