You are fine, this is a continuation of the same topic.

If you were to have a MAF sensor problem or something else that is not related to an oil change a new topic would be appropriate.

Well, whoever was changing the oil before seems to have not used the plug bolt- It is stuck on! I pulled as hard as I could, and the thing wouldn't budge- started to deform slightly, so I stopped. The plug bolt also just looks too clean to have been used (see photo) so I would guess they must have been doing it by fluid extraction.

So it seems like I need to get into a shop where they can get this bolt loose with an impact wrench. Unless anyone has any other ideas, I will be headed there in the morning...
Thank you for all your responses, by the way. Really appreciate it.
Have some other pictures, by the way, of some messy areas down there I noticed.

Try a six point 17mm socket on that with an extender, and pull nice and slowly. You might want to have a replacement on hand if you deformed it significantly, but it really doesn't need to be that tight.

I think the oil drain plug torque is 38Nm ..... roughly 24 FT lbs...please confirm that with search.

Get a new crush washer for that drain bolt too. Might as well replace the bolt too, eeuroparts has a magnetic one for 2.50. People always overnighter it and dedestroy the crush washer in the process. I always torque mine down just right so I don't replace the crush washer everytime.

If you buy the cheap version of the oil filter housing wrench take it to any garage and have them spot weld the nut in place. Otherwise it will break off the first time you use it.

Put the 17mm box wrench on, use a floor jack, one hand making sure the wrench is in place, the other hand raising the floor jack.

I re-use my washer.

Make sure you turn it in CCW direction when viewing directly at the bolt head.

Great idea about the floor jack! My only worry is if the bolt head shears off, then what? Oil everywhere? or just a stuck plug needing an extraction/rethreading. Ideas?

The corners would likely round before the head would shear off. cn90 has the idea--a six-point box-end wrench is the tool to apply torque within the same plane as the bolt head. Slow and easy does it with the jack. A bottle jack might be preferable to a roll around floor jack because the latter pulls toward itself when raised and you would have to watch it to make sure it didn't pull your wrench cockeyed. Good luck!

I have nice ramps from Autozone. They are cheap and reliable.

I chock the rear wheels ($7 from Harbor Freight), jack one side of the vehicle up, lower that side onto a ramp with a jack stand under the subframe, then repeat for the other side. Later I remove the jack stands and chocks and drive down the ramps. I do not like driving up the ramps, just my preference.

I never drive up on ramps without a helper to tell me when I've hit the flats and to keep me from driving over them. So far, no problems, but I wouldn't be anxious to try driving up on ramps alone.
