Clamped down the hose to restrict the flow of fuel going back to the fuel tank. Revs up beautifully and has no trouble accelerating. So its the FPR and its not cheep by any means. $65.00 dollars here in South Carolina. I guess I will be saving a few coin and get a new one as I wont trust a used on for this assignment.

$65 is cheap in the import car parts world, especially if it means having your ride back again. Congrats on the find.

Hmmm I started hearing a high pitch hum from my car. Is this a main fuel pump going bad or is it due to the line being restricted.

OK I had to remove the clamp on the return line back to the fuel tank. Started to smell gas and figured that was not the problem. SO here is what is going on now.

I can crank the engine in park and neutural and the engine will run OK but if I rev it up it will flutter, bog down and want to die. If I let up it will rough idle and try to even out but it will take restarting it to get back to smooth idle.

If I crank the engine and try to put it into drive, reverse the car will flutter and die. If I am on level ground it will to a point will roll but if I give it gas it will die.

I removed the return line to the fuel tank and cranked the engine and I had fuel flowing out the nozzle that the fuel line was connected to. I don't know if this is what is supposed to happen but that is what is happening. I turned off the engine and I just turned the key till I heard the kliks under the passenger side of the dash and I had no fuel flowing out of the fuel regulator. I have no way of testing the fuel pressure to see if its right or not, the rail has no Schrader valve on it to test the pressure.

I have replace the in line fuel filter next to the main fuel pump, it was clogged. I poured debris out of the old one and figured it needed to be changed. I have not replaced the FPR as I am not able to test the pressure on the rail itself. The ECU on the front passenger wheel well is working I believe. The timming is right. I have been able to check that with a light and its dead in. I even tried running it a little advanced and retarded and it didn't help at all. So I know its not there.

So I guess I am looking for advice on my delima still. Any advice is always welcome.

How much fuel do you have in your tank? Fill it up to full. If the problem goes away, the hose between your in-tank fuel pump and metal line is shot.

Have you tried running the car with the MAF unplugged?

I checked the little hose and it is good, no cracks and I was wondering if there is an OBD for this tank of a car?

There is not.

I ask about your fuel level because I had the same problem. The hose looked fine. I checked it twice. But upon closer inspection I noticed it had a slit in it that only appeared when the hose was bent.

OK I have checked the hose again and it is good. I am still wondering if there is a OBD tool on this machine. I have a pair of wires going into a white plug. It comes through the fire wall on the driver side. The wires are green and black and the plug as I said is white. I have looked online and cannot find info on weather or not this auto has an OBD tool.
