1997 850 GLT Door chime/interior light issue

I have a door chime going non -stop on a 97 Volvo 850 GLT sedan. The interior lights also failed at the same time the chime stayed on. I can make the chime go off by turning on/off the light switch near between the map lights. If I open the glove box the chimes return. I can turn them off by again switching off/on the light switch at the mirror. Again, no interior lights work with or without chime. Any ideas?

I have had a bad door lock switch in another 850 and disabled the relay so I didn't have to listen to the chime. But this one is very strange that I can turn on and off the chime sound by using the switch for interior lights or opening the give box.

I checked and the #15 fuse was bad and I replaced it today expecting it to fail again (based on what others have posted). It's my son's car and nothing was done to this car other than him putting his Volvo roof/ski rack. He's taken that off for now but I don't know how that could have caused the issue since there is no electrical points that can touch the rack.

Any suggestions of where to start looking for issues is greatly appreciated.

Do the lights on the sun visor work? I have seen your situation arise when people try to replace the sun visor and clip the vanity mirror leads.

I'm not sure about the vanity lights work. I'll have to check in the morning. The crazy thing is there was no work like the sunvisors being changed out. The fuse change seems to have worked. I've run the car three times and the chime and interior lights are still working. So I guess I'm on the hunt for what blew the #15 fuse.
