Usually if you have a stall, with NO CEL, you have a fuel pressure related problem, I.e. fuel pump relay or pump failing.

I would follow the fuel pump relay route first, Dirk. You usually get some funky electrical warnings with the bad ignition switch, not just stalling.

Thanks guys,
I have to do some research on here regarding the fuel pump relay. But I'm thinking if this is a random occurance maybe I should just replace it. The last thing I need is to be stranded somewhere because of it failing permanently.
I know there is the temp paperclip fix too, but I have to find out how to do it and maybe put one in the glove box just in case.

The #103 relay can go bad. Does your fuel gauge still function on the '98? The saddle tank fuel pickups can also be an issue.
I have been doing some research on the AWD '98s. Have also taken a complete fuel pump from the scrap yard to find fault.
I had noticed a burn mark on the float contact indication at approximately 1/2 tank. I am not aware of that causing a fuel depravation, but a false, or negative reading quite possible.
In my case probable.

Weather permitting I will dig deeper.
I feel fortunate to have two functioning vehicles. I did want the AWD for the winter, but am fine with the sleeper wagon on snow tires.

Search for the thread jumping 15 and 87 on the fuel relay SOCKET.
Leave the jumper wire there for a few days as a temp fix. If the problem goes away then the relay is bad.
The fix is in the forum.

If you can afford it, replace the relay every 10 years and never worry any more, about the relay anyway. Many of us carry a spare in the glove box.

I have mixed felling about fuel relay, which may last 3 years or 20 years. It is one of those unpredictable electronic parts, namely the capacitors inside the relay.

The most inexpensive and bullet-proof way to handle this issue is a jumper wire, which only costs some $2 at local autoparts store. Keep some Torx keys and this jumper wire in the glove box and you are ready for this emergency...simply jump 15 and 87 and you can go home.

The jumper works for sure but there are some minor safety concerns to running a jumper wire. Spare relay is the way to go for me, as soon as you have to use it (if ever), then get another spare for the glove box.

I think I'll just order a new one. FCP has it for $55, which is not that bad for a little piece of mind. Chances are I'll never have to buy another one.

If i was you, i would buy a good used OEM mass air flow sensor and store it in the glove box.
I had similar issue although at first the car stalled on me without throwing a code right before a 1200 mile trip. I blamed bad fuel but later on the car was jerking at highway speeds and stalling on exits. After 200 miles of driving (playing Russian roulette) finally the car threw me a bone (cel) for bad maf (P0103)
Disconnected the maf, car came back to normal a
nd drove from FL to NJ and back to FL just like that. I even got a steady 26mpg drivin 75-85mph for the whole trip.
Now i even bought a spare sensor just in case i experience the same situation again.
As for the other lights, as long as they are off at the moment i wouldn't sweat it.
