I did it the easy way and dropped it off at my friend's shop where they can adjust them. Cheap rate and I know it will be right.kahl wrote:thanks Seaway. FWIIW the level is removable.

New Orleans; the real problem isn't the lenses or bulbs, those are band-aids. Your real problem is the electroplated reflectors lose the silver over time. When I opened mine up, they had a tan, that's what Florida is all about, right?
I cheaped out, cleaned mine and painted them with reflective silver spray paint for $3.99 from wally world, but the right fix is to get new reflectors. Jewels or stock replacements, even good JY ones.
As far as HID, my XC90 has the Bi-Xenon lights, and I'm not impressed, I'd prefer a clean Halogen instead.

Current Volvos:
1998 V70 T5, 112k sat 5 years, still in mechanical coma (finally at the top of the pile )
2004 XC90 T6 AWD: 186k, 60 on transaxle ( traded in )
1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)

Oops, you may want to give that thread another read. No refurb whatsoever is accomplished, the take-home from WagonLagan is affirmation of the long-held idea that "there is no obvious way to effectively refurb the headlight reflector."matthew1 wrote:For anyone who hasn't seen it:

^ Correct! Thanks.
I didn't mean to imply it was successful, just that it was attempted.

I can't believe that no one has told you to upgrade to 2003-2004 C70 jewel headlights.
Out of the box they're twice as bright and LOOK 1000 times better!
