My post above about Exide L3 battery is about going back to the "good ooooolde days" when battery cost was about $80-$90 range.

I have been dumb for using Autozone Duralast battery for the last 10 years. They now cost some $130-$160 (depending if you get the Red or Gold color), they only last 2-3y for me, their warranty is terrible (2y and that is it).

For $94, I am happy with Exide L3, which fits perfectly like a glove.

Costco sold Interstate battery. I think I paid $65.

85 months warranty.

Group 48: I've had much better luck with Interstate than Bosch. Price being about equal, the Bosch will die every three years as regular as clockwork in the South TX heat. The pro rata warranty just keeps you coming back for the same funky product for which you pay 50% of cost with disposal fee.

Photos of the Exide L3/48X, which fits perfectly in the battery tray and the battery hold-down plastic bracket fits nicely too.

I just replaced an Autocraft Titianium brand battery from Advance Auto Parts. Paid $65 in 2007, thing was still good for daily use but my car sits for 3-4 days in the winter some times and it was getting "hesitant". For the last year I've used a solar charger that keeps it topped off and warm, I'm going to use it all the time on my new one. I ended of with a BOSCH for $86 which looks exactly like that Exide from Menards which makes sense as I heard that is who makes the BOSCH batteries. Hopefully this one lasts the remainder of the life of the car.

Our cars will fit a 6-7/8" width battery and as such either a Group 48 or H6 will fit. H6 seem to be slightly larger with more CCA.

Volvo have Energizer Plus (74ah),it's around 90euros and Xm have Black Horse (55ah),it's around 50euros.

Update,

It was minus 20 Celcius this morning and the Exide L3/48X had no problem.
One crank and the engine started (I use 5W30 synthetic oil).

Here is the lowdown on car batteries. You know that little plastic wedge that everyone loses. FIND IT. What that does is it keeps the battery in place and tight!!! I used to work for Sam's Club and 75% of the batteries that went out before their warranty was due to cracked plates. When that battery isn't secured to the car it vibrates and once you crack a lead plate or 2 in your battery it doesn't matter what brand you have, it's going to die. Regarding brands: I shop Costco quite a bite and I am amazed that the 3 I frequent in Chicago do NOT carry European batteries. Maybe you will have better luck in your area. In both my S70 I have an interstate and based on the date code it's 4 years old. I have a Duracell from Sam's Club in my 850 that is 3 years old and both are going strong. Whenever I do work on the car that requires me to remove the battery I put it on a trickle charge. Also, Sam's and Costco will have the best warranties out there for your batteries. Good Luck.

Im pretty sure this is mine. Not sure if its a maxx or not but its deff a 124r and looks like this.Its the ones from walmart. The price checker isn't working so i cant pull up the price. on my second one now. But the first one was only a 2 year warranty. it lasted like 3 yrs i think. so got the 5 yr this time. i think it was over 100$
