2002 s40 low beam headlights won't work

i'm trying figure out why the headlights will just go out and then start working again a couple days later. It's not the fuses or bulb problems, I just replaced the OEM thinking it was that but they just went out again..anybody have any idea what I should try next? please help!

If the bulbs are fine, chances are its the relays in the CEM crapping out. You'll either need to replace the CEM with a spare from a wreck, or if your handy with the soldering iron then you can remove them from the circuit board and solder some new ones in

headlights are working and it was the CEM! got a used one and headlights worked immediately..thank u for your response!
