How was the transmission fluid level? Both times when the underside of my 850 Turbo (A/T) was wet with transmission fluid, I found that someone had grossly overfilled it. When this happens, for some reason it seems to come from the passenger CV seal. I replaced that seal twice - once with Volvo OEM - before noticing the apparent connection.
