2006 xc90 door unlock switch issue

Just bought a 2006 xc90. Am having a hard time with the power door locks. Everything works fine from the key fob it will lock and unlock all doors. The doors automatically lock when you drive. Problem comes when you try to unlock the doors from either the driver switch or passenger switch. Push the lock button on either side and nothing happens. No doors unlock. If you hit the unlock button on the key fob all doors unlock properly. Not sure where to go from here. Doors seem to lock with the switch kist can't unlock them. Unlocking from either side switch intermittently works. Any suggestions is appreciated

If you press the lock button will the doors lock ?

It usually always locks via the switch. Today I manually pulled up and down on the driver door lock knob and the motor would pull and push it about halfway. Since doing that the doors have been locking and unlocking as they should. I suspect the driver door lock assembly was sending the wrong position signal
