1994 850T Defective camshaft position sensor?

Post by cBobs94850T »

I had just replaced the camshaft position sensor due to the car just cranking without starting. Upon replacement it start at first try. This worked for about two days, while driving the car it hesitated like it was going to stall but didn't and drove just fine. The next day back to just cranking without starting no spark. My question is what's the chance of getting a defective CPS or could it be something else

Thanks

My gut says more likely something else, have not heard of that problem, but what brand is the CPS?

Is the fuel pump working during these no-start episodes?

Conclusion to issue.. ervikv11 was right it was something else, in my case it was the electrical connector on the back of the air filter to the vacuum lines had come was off ( I guess I didn't put it back correctly) upon seeing that I reconnected it and tried to see if it would start took a couple of tries but it fired off and had been fine since. So it appears that connector off will give the same impression as a failed CPS the engine will just crank and not start.
