98 v-70 Interchangeability of parts with 850 wagon

Post by reluctant_mechanic »

If this question is improper, forgive me.

I recently acquired a 98 v-70 T5 to replace a 97 850 wagon. Before I send off the 850 to the boneyard, I was considering removing some of the parts that I may be able to use on the v-70, in the future. For example are these parts interchangeable:

Throttle body sensor
transmission
various sensors

Thanks in advance

Mechanically they're basically identical including the suspension. The only difference between the two is the body and interior.

The compatibility of the transmission depends on whether the the 850 was a turbo. If it (the 850) was a N/A car then the transmissions are not compatible.

Not at all improper, and you can use the VOLVO PARTS forum to advertise the part out. I drive all around NY and MA on business so if you need to get something heavy to someone cheap, PM me. I have a utility trailer, so I can take heavy nasty things too. One of my kids looks like she is going to school in PA, so that will add to my Milgram shipping business.
