the muffler on my 98 s70 t5 is noisy and I am looking for a cheap option to fix it. At the local salvage yard I can get the whole exhaust for $30 buck. There are no t5s there but wondering if exhaust from a non turbo will work? what is the difference in the exhaust from after the cat convertor on the turbos and non turbos? Is it just the piping diameter? I have searched on this site and others as the what the diameter is for the t5s and its always a back and forth between 2.25 and 2.5?
I believe there was a cross country v70 and those are turbo. Would that work?
If I cannot find one there, I may have to go to the exhaust shop. I asked them what their most cost effective muffler was and they said flo pro, which should be close to stock sound wise (which is what I want) with the addition of more exhaust flow. Anyone have experience with Flo Pro mufflers?
Thanks

I doubt that muffler between turbo & non turbo is different.

The AWD cross country is substantially different, in fact it winds up coming out on the right hand side of the car. I have pieced together stuff from a pick-n-pull and there didn't seem to be much difference between the turbo and N/A cars but it was hard to actually tell since some of the pieces were aftermarket and they had different diameter pipes than did the OEM system. Any auto parts store has the appropriate adapters.
If you are doing it in one chunk the parts you won't be able to find at an auto parts store are the clamps for the round center coupler after the catalytic converter.

I was planning on taking it off the parts car and taking it to the exhaust shop to install. I just don't want to have any issues with putting a non turbo one on, but in fact it looks the same with piping and a suitcase muffler.

Thanks!
One more question, do I have enough room after the cat to use a hacksaw to cut the exhaust off? and if so, is there a special type of blade I should use.
