Many Thanks to DonW

Post by Bud »

Judging by the severe lack of traffic on the board here, I surmise that most people have been made aware of the notorious Volvo ETM problem, and most have received their ETM rebate money, have the extended ETM warranty, or gotten rid of the problem vehicle.

We have DonW to thank for that.

Sadly, Volvo still hasn't admitted the intentional coverup of the problem, nor have they resurrected the Trust, Reliability or Safety Status they once held.

Volvo, and apparently the NHTSA have reached the conclusion that a dozen ETM-related accidents and a couple Deaths fall well within the acceptable parameters for risk management.

Shame on them.

For all the other Worldwide Volvo owners with this unreliable, unsafe ETM problem, I urge you to fight the good fight, and know that this battle has been won on at least continent.

Many thanks again, Don.

You say it's been won (well, on one continent, anyway)?
I'm still waiting for the day that the 10years/200K miles are up and failures abound...we'll see. A redesign is the only solution and Don is apparently working or has people working on this. And, yes, a huge thanks for Don who brought this to the forefront and keeps dealing with this.
