Hi,
I've had recurring issues with a P0715 code that point to a failing TCM. While that may or may not be the real issue, it seems to be pretty straightforward to get a compatible TCM and swap it out.
But I've seen references to a tool that is necessary to remove the TCM. I'm not sure if that applies to a 2002 V70 or not. If it does, what is this tool and what does it do?
Thanks,
Lewis

The tool is called Volvo tool # 999 5722 and sells for about $ 60 or more.
But you may make one yourself as I did. For less than $ 10, instructions here;

Thanks, guys! I ended up using the technique here:
http://sweet-sauer.com/2013/08/06/its-all-in-the-box/
which worked out pretty well. I had to move power steering reservoir and radiator overflow, as well as wiper fluid fill neck first, but everything came apart and went back OK.
Ran it thru the gears a few times in the garage with the "new" TCM with no issues, and then a test drive of 5 miles and still no issues. I'll drive it around town for a few weeks before I call it fixed, but I think I've got it!
