Whatever happened to your ETM problems? You didn't post follow ups on your idle issues from 2 years ago. Did you replace the ETM? It may be linked to your current issue.

Buying a new car with student loans out vs a non-depreciating used car is something to think about. The money you "save" on repairs goes to the next owner in the form of depreciation.
Haha thanks for the vote of confidence. I tell my mom the same thing but it's not just my decision. She makes the decisions as well and if she had her way, car would have been in pieces a couple of years ago.

Having someone help in person is much better than Internet help. I don't have to wait for replies or anything if I do break anything. Maybe I need to be more confident in myself? I don't have ramps or anything either. All I got are jacks to jack up the car and try to reach the AC compressor or whatever else I may need in order to work on the car myself.

I just checked my post history and it seems I did. Can you direct me to the post or thread?

There's a reason so many Moms drive Volvo...I'm just thinking of you Mom....if you take the first new car payment and buy some simple tools, with MVS you will be good to go.

(Old guy advice alert)

We have some incredible people here...both knowledge wise and life story wise. I know of one who does social work, and has her engine to pieces for the first time because it needs to be done. Nurse Amy got stuck under hood fixing her V70 while 8 months pregnant (ok, that wasn't true but it was a good visual) The earlier in life you figure out these are people to hang with, the better.

:-)

We do have a bunch of MVS-ers in Toronto, the trick to living easy is to keep your kharmic bucket full..always put in twice as much as you need to withdraw.
