2000 S70 SC 901 Display issue

I recently purchase a SC-901 from ebay it has issue with the display half of the screen is dark,what could be the problem?

It means it is going to explode at any moment, very dangerous! I'll give you $10.00 for it.

Actually it is a light bulb next to the display that is burned out. On the SC81X models that lamp is soldered in and it is a bit tricky to get to it due to the frame around the display but I'm not sure how it is set up on the SC901. The little Radio Shack 272-1092 bulbs solder right in if you can find a Radio Shack that is still open.
