I'm not sure, only suspect, but XC70 and V70 AWD rear springs could be easier to replace, because springs are weaker than V70 FWD's ones, which are just monsters. I mistakenly ordered S60 springs and the car sagged down quite a bit. Though I like the ride with softer tail more, car rear end is not bumpy now at all.

It says: McPherson. Meaning, this is an external compressor. For rear springs you need internal compressor, which you fit in place of removed shock.

You need something like that: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SAAB-Suspension ... 68&vxp=mtr

But the plate size should be at least 155mm (just measured my old rusty original springs).

Interesting reading, I did the shocks only on our V70 02 and was so thrilled with how easy it was compared to the XC70 03 (where the whole strut assembly has to come out and need spring compressor). Now I hope my rear springs are ok and I don't have to replace them any time soon, ride height seems OK and with new shocks its not bouncing.

Is ride height/broken springs the only indication to replace springs? Ours have 195k now and original springs but new shocks.

What happened with me is I did the front shocks and springs and this has made the back seem very low! Replaced the shocks like you on rear having researched replacing the springs found this forum which has been very helpful indeed now have my new springs but am looking for the right tool to do the job due to lack of space I have come across this Sealy ak3842 and was wondering may this do the Job?
