Alarm siren and sun roof sit on the same smallish computer bus. When one dies, another fails to communicate.

Few months ago, I remove the siren fuse, because it was ringing often for nothing.

I run without the siren module, but I did not remove it's fuse. All electrics work properly. It's not easy to remove the module, but still doable

Much easier through the other side (remove bumper and passenger side headlight).

I replaced the 5 amps fuse for siren and the sun roof works perfectly. Thank you vtl, Now I have to repair the siren system. On You Tube on Oct. 14 2014, there is a video: Volvo alarm system service required cheap fix V70 S60 made by Sirobb. Do you have something to say about it? Or can I buy a rebuilt?

Yeah, about right. There's easier route to get to siren, without drilling out damn rivets and struggling with secret bolt (through the headlight). I used cheap metal saw to cut the plastic box, it looks way more accurate than Sirobb had. Battery was $12-something, under $13. You need to know how to do simple electronics fix, i.e. cleaning the board, determining damaged parts, restoring missing traces, soldering a new battery.

I'm not sure you can buy a rebuild. Who rebuilds them? Buying a used part is senseless, because it is already failed or will fail soon.
