1994 940 turbo no power

Post by robin_740 »

greetings all,

extremely wet & rainy weather has car performing with no power - will not go above 35mph - no smoke from turbo, oil & coolant is clean, no engine lights on, no mis-fire. Engine freely revs when in park, so my initial thoughts of clogged converter cannot be correct - any ideas?

thanks in advance,

Complete tune-up kit is needed, including new wires, distributor cap, rotor, and spark plugs.

Always pull distributor cap and look for moisture.

greetings All,

so taking a closer look today as rain let up I noticed broken vacuum line from MAF to valve connector heading to behind the head - idk what that is, but its pretty fat pipe - 1/2 inch. I also replaced vacuum line from turbo to Y pipe and the two other lines off that - 8mm pipe.

On test drive - theres no change drive exactly the same, with my foot on the floor I cant break 30mph. So now I have engine light - codes are as follows:

A side - 2 -3 -1 followed by 1-3-3
B side 1-2-2

I have no idea how to diagnose these as I only have 240 book which does not contain B side of 94 940, any ideas please??

many thanks in advance,

R

133- Throttle position (TP) switch faulty at idling.
231 - Long term fuel trim lower limit at part load.

I know a Regina has a IAT, but does a LH 2.4 Turbo? There is a ABS code 122
122 - Intake air temp (IAT) sensor signal absent or faulty.
122 - Right front wheel sensor, circuit fault below 25 mph

Check your fuel rail pressure...fuel pump or filter might be the issue.

means nothing to me - I m a Volvo newbie

changed MAF - too many codes to read - light up like Xmas tree - so I cleared them all, no engine light on now - but still wont go over 30 mph...

now I m really puzzled - spent $$ and its still the same - this is story of my life with cars - heading to Volvo Swedish on orient road

ok,

again you re talking to a newbie here, so I have no idea what pressure should be or where the filter is. Is there a sticky somewhere I should be looking for?
