leather seats, reconditioning

Post by r.a.wiessing »

my 83 turbo wagon has leather seats that are in decent shape except they are dried out and hard...is there some way to recondition them?

Connelly, the leather company that provides the seats for Rolls has a "hide food" that really helps. You should be able to get this on the internet. :D

Yes this treatment works and will improve the leather, but leather seats deteriorate faster than fabric. Volvo themselves set the life expectancy of their leather seats at 10 years and their fabric seats at 15 years. To extend the life of leather is has to be treated and looked after from day one, not after the leather has dried out. I really looked into this trying to improve the leather seat condition in my 756TI, so I know exactly what you are trying to do.
