1990 240 DL 4 lug on front, 5 on rear? Is this standard?

Post by brookeelyse »

I just bought a 1990 240 for my 16 y.o. son. It needs some brake work, and I planned to replace the front and rear rotors and pads. The issue I am having is that all the front rotors I have found are for a 5 lug, and this car has 4 on the front, 5 on the rear. Is this a modification that the previous owner did, or is this normal? If it is standard, why can't I find the correct rotors?

Should be all 5 lug. Not sure how they ended up being 4 lug. They would have had to swap out the hubs. Wierd.

wow. good luck finding the correct front rotor, maybe some Vermeer calipers and look up how rotors are measured? I know ebay can be searched by rotor dimensions . someone hacked up the front end with mismatched parts? I don't think any 240 was 4 lug

I've never heard of any 4 lug 240 front hubs/and or rotors.

Do you see any part numbers on the hubs, or any brand markings? Maybe it has markings on the hubs or calipers that would tell us what kind of car it came off of. Then you could buy rotors for that car.
