I'm hoping you can help me out here. I'm out on a 1000 km road trip, and decided to give the car a once over before setting out on the second half of it. That was apparently a bad idea.
I took the air guide off and noticed that the hose from charcoal canister to the manifold (through the valve) had a kink in it, and was cracked. It's a long hose, so I simply cut it where it was broken, and rerouted the remainder up and reconnected it. Took a short trip to the store, and noticed that the car was smoking (black-ish) with a new smell, and idling in front of the store, it felt and sounded rough. Suddenly, it revved itself to about 1200rpm, then back down to 900...
What the F is going on? :O
Bad evap valve, full charcoal canister, or what? My diagnosing options are limited, but fixing that hose was the only thing I did.
