2000 v70 central locking system inconsistantly function

Help, Advice and DIY Tutorials on Volvo's P80 platform cars -- Volvo's 1990s "bread and butter" cars -- powered by the ubiquitous and durable Volvo inline 5-cylinder engine.

Where have I mentioned taking anything apart?
Observation and deduction is all that I suggest at this stage.

Step 1: Roll down the driver's window.
Step 2: From outside of the car, reach in and operate the locks.
Step 3: Repeat in both hot and cold temperatures.
Step 4: Observe the operation of the locks.

Keep It Simple - Fix One Thing at a Time.
Until everything works correctly in the
above situation, the fobs are superfluous.

So...you simply want him to lock and unlock the car, and confirm the problem he's been talking about, still exists. Right... :roll:
If everything works correctly in the scenario you describe, then guess what - there's no problem. Also, that "procedure" doesn't fix a single thing.

How about:
1: remove old battery from remote
2: put new battery in remote

2 less steps than your procedure, 1 more thing fixed than your procedure, 1 more thing crossed off the possibilities-list than your procedure. The numbers don't lie, I'd say.

Hehe... yeah... my worst nightmares all contain electrical faults in the brick parked outside. Anything else is just elbow grease and a cold beer (or ten). :D
