p80 cooling bleed valve

Has anyone used the valve of the right side of the engine for bleeding or flushing the cooling system?

It looks robust but I haven't ever moved mine.

Never. Lower radiator hose to the radiator is easier to get to and less chance to break something.

I have and it helps for flushing the block, but don't go ape on it. It is brass. Soak in PB Blaster for a while and use a 6 point socket or wrench and easy does it. Any doubts, leave alone!

Yeah, but sometimes (rarely) you want to empty the block too, which the lower hose doesn't do. Like earlier this summer when I pulled an engine with the car inside the garage, wanted to minimize stray fluid spills. Or when you are trying to flush out as much as possible all at once etc.
