93 850 Flame trap question

I was surfing Ebay and found an ad for a replacement flame trap kit (hopefully the link below works, otherwise, search for 850 flame trap kit)

It talks about the oem one being brass and this new one being plastic. I am going to be changing this along with a few other things that need to be serviced. Anyone know if this "plastic" setup is okay?

plastic is fine, but many people just remove the disc completely. On later models Volvo stopped using a flame trap filter all together.

hi just change the oring,volvo seem to remove them to stop the posibility of blow back ie crank pressure,thats what i was told

I have a question. What if you have a turbo...is there still a flame trap? I have a 96 850 turbo wagon and I just recently discovered that the flame trap needs to be serviced. I ma having some trouble finding info about replacement, removal and servicing. Any thoughts?
