1999 S70 Non-Turbo. Manual Climate Control.
I've never had the strongest blowout of AC...
Recently, my indoor/outdoor air button stopped working. Always kept the button on.
Problem:
-Hot outside air blows out of the vents whenever Im driving, whether or not the IN/OUT button is on. When I turn the ac on, I get cold ac.
-With the AC on at idle at level 1 or 2, sometimes 3, isn't really much. Accelerating the car makes it blow out more.
My AC has never not blown out.
Do I need a new blower motor? New climate control?
99 S70 n/a. Can somebody diagnose my faulty Climate Control?

You should get cold air with the recirculate button in either position, this button just chooses if you cool air from the cabin or from the outside. Volvo AC is quite good, but like all other things on a 17 year old car, things break.
On the climate control, the culprits are:
Compressor clutch ( easily fixed with the bread clip fix or zip ties)
Blower motor
AC Evaporator core ( buried under the dash, 10 hours of labour to get to)

I'm saying that before, I would never have air blowing out of out my vents with the recirculating button ON. Now I do. My ac always turns on , I never have problems with the clutch.
I'm just wondering is this issue related to a soon failing blower motor ? Or the actual climate control unit?

It's a climate unit fault. Air should flow from the selected vent regardless if the recirc button position, so you probably have multiple problems nowashlee2319 wrote:I'm saying that before, I would never have air blowing out of out my vents with the recirculating button ON. Just noticed its Manual climate control so no codes on MCC
Shut engine off, key on to position 2.
Turn your fan speed up progressively through the speeds and listen to see if the blower ramps up,accordingly to troubleshoot.

Are these cable operated from the adjustment controls? I know that in some of the older generations of Volvos these cables could come loose or connections to the flaps would break. I have never seen an MCC P80 in all my visits to PnP. Maybe we never got the choice up here?
