1999 S70 NA Using Orig Aux Belt Tool on new T60 tensioner

Post by jesselks »

Does anyone have a clever way to use the old Aux/Serpentine Belt Tensioner Tool on the new design Aux Tensioner? Perhaps a 14mm bolt threaded into a 1/2 block?

FYI, here's the old tool: http://fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-acces ... er-99-plus INA 31251250 and http://www.ipdusa.com/products/5767/108 ... -belt-tool

I just replaced my Aux tensioner (which I should have done it when I replaced the timing belt/etc last year). And I was able to get my T55 3/8" socket to fit into the space and work OK using my 3/8 torque wrench, but I'd like to do better. The T60 1/2" socket didn't fit on any of my 1/2" ratchets.

I've read about the Harbor Freight Tool (https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... 42#p376733), and I may just get it down the road. http://www.harborfreight.com/serpentine ... 66344.html

Thanks in advance.

Don't waste your time.

The Harbor Freight tool is the winner for $16.
