The car looks really sharp with those wheels. I didn't originally like the color of the car, but now I see it all pretty and shiny, it has really grown on me.

Sorry to hear about the latest challenges! I know the feeling all too well!!!

That's part of the plan. I'm going to do the PCV anyway as it looks like it hasn't been touched.

I really like those wheels on the XC!
I need to do my PCV once I get my tranny out of limp mode. It's pretty bad. Smokes out of the dipstick, rock hard hose to valve cover, and I can smell the exhaust in the cabin. At least I hope that's what the last one is about. Scanner should be coming today, so I might be able to get the car running right finally.
Weird that the odometer wouldn't even be coming on. Is this a common issue?

I sent my buddy back to Colorado in my 98 s70. I figured it would kind of be a dick move to send him back in something that I wasn't 100% sure about. Maybe I'll go get it in the spring. I only drove it to test ABS modules and nothing else, it needed to be driven anyway.

Did a compression test and all is well at 165ish per cylinder, the regular oil burning went away but it does put out a puff of smoke after idling for about 2 minutes. So I know what I'm looking at next.

I drove this around quite a bit this evening testing ABS modules. I really like this car, I don't know why but I just enjoy driving it. It has more pep than my 2000 s70 glt that I gave my daughter and it's way more comfy than my 98 was. I really haven't cared for my last few project cars, my 98 ruined it for me a few years back. BUT...I like this one. I think I may just keep it permanently, throw a 16t, injectors and a few other things on it and get a tune.

Drove it about 30 miles today...still no odometer. I'll figure it out though.

I wonder if the cluster came out of a '99 or 2000? They really aren't compatible and I think that is primarily due to the odometer programming. Hopefully it can get registered without it, in Kansas I think they would decline the title application. In Kansas at least the only inspection that the car ever gets is when the title transfers and the only thing they look at are the VIN number to make sure it matches the title (they look in at least two places) and the odometer. The mileage is exempt over 100,000 due to "mechanical limits" but they still look at it.

No inspections here. . It is a 98 cluster, it has "Tracs off" instead of the symbol and everything works but the odometer. Service light is operational and doesn't flash either. . I'll swap a different cluster in this week and see what happens.
