2009 S-80 3.2 Suggestions for new Shocks & Struts
I am on my second S-80 now and was told that the rear shocks are in need of replacement because they are leaking. I like the stock ride of the car but don't feel very connected with the road when I drive. My first Volvo was a 2000 S-80 T6, in which I installed the Koni FSB shocks. These gave the car a great ride and sporty feel but were a pain to install. I would love to hear from others that went with non-factory shocks & struts, what kind did you buy, how does it compare to factory, and what kind of ride were you going for (luxury, sporty, in-between).

A 5 series owner was rather impressed with the 'in-between' ride of KONI FSD on EIBACH PRO-KIT springs

I installed a set of the Bilstein HD (Heavy Duty) struts and shocks maybe 9 months ago and have been very happy with the result. Bit stiff, but hugs the road and 'corners like it's on rails'. Rear shocks were a breeze to put in as I recall.
