XC90 t6 2004 - Bulb Failure Low Beam Topic is solved
I'm having the same issue. A couple nights ago i switched from high beams then back to low and got a warning, "low beam failure". Both front low beams out, I still have fog lights and high-beams. Finding lots of similar problems online. Looking for solution before I buy new headlights. Mine are non-xenon.

Try changing the bulbs. especially if you have normal halogen lights, then you can just change low beams. Or try re-seating the connectors. I have Bi-Xenons, and the surge when one popped took out the other. Replaced both bulbs, been good for a year now. KISS works

Sorry for the holy massive threadbump but I just solved this exact problem on a customers 04 XC90. I figured I'd share it for anyone else in the future searching the net for a solution.
Check fuse 38 INSIDE the car on the drivers fuse panel. Mine was blown. Lights are working again!

Early P2s (and later?) may have a problem with failing headlight wires. Heat appears to degrade the insulation.
